This workshop, facilitated by Burrinja Cultural Development Producer, Toni Main, has been designed to assist you in taking the next step in developing your artistic practice. This workshop will a great foundation before you embark on a years worth of professional development as part of the aerie program, or a great opportunity to reconnect with your ambitions after 2 years of interuptions.
10.30am Saturday 29 January
This 2 hour workshop is the perfect way to kick off your aerie membership. You will be guided through a step by step process that will get you to
- Think strategically about your arts practice
- Consider your values as an artist
- Look at your vision, objectives and direction
- Set achievable creative or business goals
Useful for both emerging creatives who are just starting out and established makers who are planning a new trajectory.
Burrinja
Burrinja is a vibrant community cultural centre in the Dandenong Ranges with a clear, creative and community-based vision for the region: Building Community through Arts.
Burrinja is a cultural hub for the Dandenong Ranges. Working to provide outcomes that contribute to the cultural vibrancy of the region, Burrinja enables the development of new, experiential and distinctive arts practice, whilst providing continued support for existing art forms in the Hills.
Toni Main
Toni is currently the Cultural Development Producer at Burrinja. She brings with her over 20 years experience working in the creative sector in numerous roles including artistic director, mentor, community cultural development officer, festival director, producer, workshop facilitator, event manager, and university lecturer.
Her background is in theatre and performance, however, she has been working in the visual arts for the last five years.
The aerie professional development program will provide monthly workshops for artists. These workshops will aim to develop artists’ strategic skills in arts business, marketing and more.
There are limited places in each workshop.
